I tried this tool and it really clicks, but one thing to add. The DESIGN.md files in getdesign.md aren't the official design systems of each company. The site says so explicitly. They're positioned as a starting point for building 'Stripe-like UI', not the real thing.

SalSensei

@salsensei

At the end of March this year, Google's AI design tool Stitch published a new spec called DESIGN.md. Simply put, it's a design system document written in plain Markdown text. But it's not for humans to read, it's built specifically for AI agents to parse. Colors, fonts, spacing, component rules, interaction patterns. Everything written in structured plain text.

There's a site called getdesign.md, made by the VoltAgent team. The idea: they collected popular brands' design systems in DESIGN.md format. Vercel, Stripe, Linear, Notion, Figma, Airbnb, Spotify, Apple, Tesla, Ferrari, Nike, Shopify, SpaceX, Claude, Cursor. Pretty much anything you can think of.

I tried this tool and it really clicks, but one thing to add. The DESIGN.md files in getdesign.md aren't the official design systems of each company. The site says so explicitly. They're positioned as a starting point for building 'Stripe-like UI', not the real thing.

SalSensei

@salsensei

The most annoying thing about AI writing frontend isn't that it can't, it's that the output always has a 'cheap admin panel' vibe. Worth bookmarking this repo: awesome-design-md. It organizes a bunch of DESIGN.md files, turning the visual rules of well-known products into design docs the AI can read. 1. Drop DESIGN.md into your project root 2. Tell Cursor / Claude Code to build pages in that style.
